Once we receive your CV, one of our experienced consultants will be in contact to have an initial discussion so they gain an understanding of your current situation and the type of job you are ideally hoping to find.
At this stage, we will always be happy to offer advice, feedback and guidance before organising a full registration interview with you. We know that that time is precious, so we will only ask you to meet with us if we really feel we can help you take that next step.
It is at the point of registration we will really get to know you. We won’t just ask you to fill out a few forms; we will spend time with you. We want to understand what is important to you and it is our job to listen, after all, that’s why we’re here – if we don’t listen, we can’t find you that dream job.
Communication
We are very hot on communication and best practise, so we will always contact you before sending your CV to any of our clients.
We are not an agency that just fires out CVs to companies and hopes that something will work out. We are here to find the right job for you. So, we will always make contact about any role we think will interest you as soon as we receive it.

Permanent jobs
Once registered, we will work hard to find you that perfect job and line up interviews for you to attend. Prior to any interviews, be assured that we will fully brief you about the position and company as well as offering any interview guidance and support that you require. We know this stage can be quite nerve-wracking, especially if it is a job that you really want!
Following every interview, we will obtain as much feedback as possible from our clients as we know this information is invaluable. Likewise, we will want to hear your thoughts as you may have points that need clarification, or have additional questions you want answered, before making any further decisions.
Receiving an offer of a new job can be exhilarating – especially if it is a job that you have set your heart on. We will be there to guide you and to talk through the whole process, from accepting your new position to handing-in your notice.
Temporary work
Temporary work can be an excellent way to get to know companies in your area and it offers flexibility to fit around other commitments you may have.
Likewise, temping can be a great introduction into a new company. It gives a great insight into how they work and whether it might be a company that you would like to work for permanently. Over the years, several members of our temporary team have ended up working permanently in the places where they have previously been temping.
If you do decide to join our team of temporary workers, rest-assured that we will always thoroughly brief you before you start any assignment no matter how long it may be, from one day to one year, it is equally as important.

Interview advice
Preparation
The basics
Arrive 5-10 minutes early; being late is never acceptable, whatever the excuse. However, don’t arrive too early as this can be equally inconvenient. Make good eye contact when you meet your interviewer, smile and give a firm handshake. Dress smartly unless advised otherwise; first impressions count so give yourself the best opportunity before you begin.
Research
Researching the company before your interview is vital. This doesn’t mean just scanning the homepage. Look around the website, visit current events or company news. Do they have a blog? Try to get an understanding of not only what they do but their values and vision and the people that currently work for them.
The job description
Make sure you have thoroughly read and understood the job description. Try to remember key points of ‘desirable requirements’ that the company is looking for and adapt them to your own skill set.
What to expect
Your CV
Your CV is a document that YOU wrote and you should know it back to front and inside out. Make sure you know dates and time scales as well as any details you have supplied about previous roles. You need to be able to answer questions promptly and confidently.
Interview format
Find out what format the interview will take i.e. CV based or competency-based. Will there be a requirement for a presentation? Will you be required to undertake tests/assessments whilst at the interview? You should be advised of all of the above but if in doubt ASK!
Body language/speech
Be aware of nervous traits. Consider your posture, ensure you sit still and sit up straight. Maintain good eye contact throughout.
Be measured in your speech, take time to think about what you want to say and ensure your answers are clear and concise.
Prepare answers
Before your interview think about some questions you may be asked so you can be prepared. If it is a competency-based interview go through the job description thoroughly and think about relevant scenarios in your career which demonstrate the skills required for the role. You will need to have a specific scenario for each question asked.
The big questions
Some general questions to consider:
- Why did you apply for this role?
- What interests you about this job?
- How would you approach this job?
- What skills would you bring to the role?
- Why do you want to work for our company?
Some competency-based questions to consider:
- Tell me about a time when you had to identify the underlying causes of a problem.
- Tell me about a time when you worked successfully as a member of a team.
- Describe a recent situation in which you convinced an individual or a group to do something.
- Describe the level of stress in your job and what you do to manage it.
- Give an example of how you provided service to a client/customer beyond their expectations. How did you identify the need? How did you respond?
Your questions
At the end of your interview, it is likely you will be asked if you have any questions. This is your chance to find out anything that is important to you about the role that has not already been covered. If you feel everything has been discussed then it is ok to say that your questions have been answered during the interview.
Show interest
At the end of the interview ask when you will hear back and what the next stage of the process will be. If you are still interested in the role tell the interviewer.
