Employment legislation continues to evolve, bringing new responsibilities and expectations for HR teams.

From changes to employment rights through to developments in salary sacrifice and reward structures, HR is increasingly required to interpret change, guide the business and implement updates in a way that is compliant, considered and people-focused.

This seminar is designed to support HR professionals through that process, providing clarity on what’s changing, insight into what needs to be addressed and practical guidance on how to lead workplace change effectively.

What will we be covering?

Across the morning, we’ll be looking beyond the headlines to focus on what recent and upcoming changes mean in practice for HR teams, including:

  • Key developments within the Employment Rights Bill and what HR teams need to prepare for

  • Changes affecting pay, benefits and salary sacrifice and the implications for employers

  • How HR can implement these changes in practice, maintaining engagement, trust and organisational culture

The focus throughout is practical, helping HR professionals understand both what is changing and how to approach implementation with confidence.

We’ll be joined by three expert speakers. Steve Herbert and Mike Cole, who are familiar faces to many members and they will be joined by Tara Birch, a Change and Transformation Consultant, bringing a fresh perspective to the discussion.

Steve Herbert, HR and Employee Benefits Specialist

❇️ Salary sacrifice and pay policy updates – Steve Herbert

Government policy changes are creating new challenges around pay and benefits. Steve will break down the latest increases to minimum pay levels, the key recommendations from the Keep Britain Working Review, and the seismic changes to pension salary sacrifice rules.

Walk away with practical insights on adapting your reward strategy while staying compliant and competitive.

❇️ Employment Rights Bill: what HR needs to know – Mike Cole

The Employment Rights Bill introduces significant changes across areas such as sick pay, leave, dismissal protections, flexible working and zero-hours contracts.

Mike will share a clear and practical overview of the updates HR teams need to be aware of, focusing on the implications for policies, procedures and day-to-day HR practice.

You’ll gain a clearer understanding of what needs to be reviewed, updated and communicated as these changes are introduced.

❇️ Leading change in times of legislative shift – Tara Birch

Understanding legislative change is only part of the challenge. Implementing it successfully, while maintaining engagement and culture, is where HR’s influence is most felt.

Tara will bring together the themes from earlier discussions and focus on how HR teams can lead workplace change effectively.

Drawing on over 25 years’ experience delivering transformation across over 40 countries, she’ll explore how to move beyond a purely compliance-led approach and deliver change in a way that employees understand, accept and support.

❇️ Q&A

We’ll finish with a Q&A, giving members the opportunity to raise questions anonymously using an automated audience participation tool.
