Our client is looking for a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with a valid practising certificate to take ownership of our Accountant’s Report process, supporting compliance with Client Money Protection (CMP) scheme requirements such as Propertymark, Client Money Protect, Safeagent, UKALA, and Money Shield.

This is a part-time opportunity working 20 hours per week, 4 hours each day. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on process improvement, values flexibility, and enjoys using tech to streamline traditional workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and sign off Accountant’s Reports in line with CMP scheme standards, using your professional qualification and practising certificate to certify compliance.
  • Design and refine internal audit processes, including engagement workflows, KYC checks, and reporting templates — working with our global development team to automate and optimise using AI-supported tools.
  • Conduct remote audits through online submissions and virtual meetings (Zoom/Teams) — no travel required.
  • Review client bank reconciliations, trust account controls, and money handling practices, ensuring they meet regulatory expectations.
  • Guide clients through the CMP audit process, turning technical requirements into practical, actionable advice.
  • Explore demand for outsourced services like year-end accounts, management reporting, payroll, and bookkeeping.
  • Support broader finance operations, particularly during the initial build phase of the Accountant’s Report function.
  • Collaborate across teams, clearly presenting findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Essential Skills Required:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a valid practising certificate.
  • Solid understanding of client accounting and statutory compliance.
  • Proficient in cloud accounting software and Excel.
  • Experience in auditing or regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Desirable Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of the lettings or property management sector.
  • Experience in a practice or outsourced finance team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial issues to non-financial stakeholders.
